[ Left by Gaia's door is a black satchel tied off with a blue ribbon, with a note attached. Inside is a generous amount of perfectly round transparent candies. They're mint-flavored, of course.
The note is written in plain cursive, and reads: ]
I don't know how well your mint candies turned out, but I figured more wouldn't hurt! Consider it a reward for defending your friend. There should be enough to share with him, too, but maybe don't tell him where they came from. ^_^
[ The satchel will disappear at some point during the day. Unfortunately, there will be signs that not all is at peace. If Avan happens to scope out the situation later, he might come across a small compost pile in the yard. It's mostly mulched over and put to 'sleep' for the coming winter, but the little dots of mint candy aren't exactly mixed in.
This was probably on purpose. Especially as it's going to be found they will be covered properly some days later as well as lidded. But those are future Gaia intentions. ]
Soon a young lad will track down Avan, having been tasked with finding him by description and name, then passing a note along. It is to the point. It is also written using the back of the same card Avan used.
Avan.
I am not your new toy. I am not six years old. I don't need 'prizes' for knowing how to act like an adult. Especially from someone that seriously lacks in that category. If you have time to make candy to continue being a manipulative little gremlin, use it better. I personally suggest you try to reflect on why you were in the wrong and learn what it means to be accountable.
-Gaia
P.S. I see you're stalking me since I never told you where I live. This is my explicit warning telling you to stop and stay away from me.
[ OK, well, that's by far the most vitriolic reaction he's ever gotten to an apology gift, geeze. Guess he's going to have to avoid that entire part of town lest she happen to spot him and assume he's there because of her. ]
[The handwriting's a touch sloppy because written quickly.]
There's a boy here about our age, dark hair, more enthusiasm than anything else, looking for a sparring partner and a second set of eyes to critique his techniques while he tries to incinerate a field. His name's Popp. Are you interested?
I have concerns. He seemed very enthusiastic about fire when I spoke with him. Has he tried standing on his head in front of you yet?
[ No, no Gaia. Let's force ourselves back to priorities here. ]
And on the matter of sparring... I do know magic and how to use the hammer you saw before. But it's more like... I don't know. Muscle memory I guess? It'll depend on how he feels about that. I can't guarantee I'll know when to stop at er... maiming. Would he be fine with that?
Sephiroth mentioned sparring and yes, I did voice interest. He said he explained that I'm not really used to fighting while holding back. Are you sure you're okay with that?
[ Sephiroth also mentioned Popp was planning to burn a field with fire but... one crisis at a time here. ]
It's good practice for me for fighting people who for sure aren't holding back. And good practice for you for working on just knocking people around instead of knocking their blocks off.
I'll swap out my shining staff for a normal one, and stick to weaker spells that'll just singe you or ice you over a bit.
Or we can start with weapons. Then magic, then mixing both.
[ That sounds like a reasonable order of effort, right? Though she's not entirely sure if she's being insulted by him casually stating that he'll 'hold back' for her with the weaker spells. ]
I only have one weapon and it's fairly powerful. So if you're trying to use weaker skills for my sake, that's probably going to cause problems for you. Maybe you should see what I can do before you start thinking of how to go easy on me?
Though we may want to find practice weapons. That would be a good idea.
[ There might be a tinge of old fashioned sexism behind Popp's reluctance to outright set a girl on fire... or plain sensible wariness of setting people on fire just because they say it will be fine. ]
If you want me to go harder on you, just start shrugging off everything I toss out there so I'll have to.
A wooden hammer with cloth padding is a pretty common practice weapon. If you can get a post maul from someone who sets up fences or a carpenter's mallet you're most of the way there.
[ He knows more about weaponry than he likes to own up for for Backstory Reasons. He could in theory make such a hammer, which is basic apprentice work. He also really doesn't want to. ]

Do you mean from a past life or actually me but from the past or future?
no subject
Hypothetically. I've not encountered any such replication technology.
no subject
I guess if it were me but the past or future.... that might be different.
I don'tknow what I'd do about an exact copy. That would be horrible.

Popp? I remember him. I mean I can't say I'm not curious but I don't know how much help I can judge his style.
And... I don't really know how to spar.
[ She knows how to use her weapon but... ]
Wait is he wanting to spar with magic?
THEN
no subject
Yes. Ideally he'll be blanketing the area in ice first; I suggested one of the already harvested fallow fields.

I'll ask.

Are you healed sufficiently for a visitor?
no subject
You can come over.
[ That's not quite a yes, Gaia. ]
Do you know how to get blood out of fabric?
no subject
I don't know anything about cleaning silk. So not silk.
no subject
[ Definitely wasn't silk. Might have been wool based. ]
